On July 9, 2015, San Mateo Lions Club Past President Lion Marlin Gill passed away at age 81 from complications of kidney surgery. A native of Sacramento, California, Lion Marlin was devoted to service to his country. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Served as Senior Vice Commandant of the Marine Corps League, General J.C. Breckenridge Detachment. Member of the Marine Memorial Association. Member of the 1st Marine Division. He served as Chairman of the San Mateo City Personnel Board. Devoted to President Ronald Reagan, he participated in the 1981 inauguration and Ball. Past Exalted Ruler of San Mateo Elks Lodge BPOE 1112. Past President of the San Mateo Lions Club. Proud member of the Olympic Club.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 after 10:00 AM at Saint Bartholomew’s Catholic Church, 600 Columbia Drive in San Mateo, with a Funeral Mass celebrated at 11:00 AM.
