San Francisco Fil Am Lions Club

2nd Vice District Governor Lion Dr. Jun is the head of the Valera Family Unit which consists of himself, Lion Luisa, Leo Lion August and Leo Tessa. Lion Dr Jun joined SF Fil-Am Lions Club in 2004 where he served in various positions culminating as two term Club President. He served as SFCCLC President, Zone Chair twice, Region Chair, District Treasurer and YEP Chair. He revived the dormant district YEP into one of the most active in MD4 . He served as Chair of the MD4 YEP and introduced innovations.
His awards include the International Presidential Medal, International Leadership Award, Senior Master Key Award, Zone Chair Excellence Award, Diamond, Gold and Silver Memberships Awards, Centennial Club Organizer and multiple 100% Secretary’s Awards, MD-4 Couple of the Year Finalist, District 4-C4 Lion of the Year Award, Multiple District Governors Appreciation Awards and five time Lion of the Year of his lions club. He received his Bachelor’s degree at Lions University. He co-organized and co-chartered SF Nueva Vizcaya Lions Club and serves as their Guiding Lion. He is a Melvin Jones Fellow, Dr, Bill Iannaccone Fellow # 2, and Don Stanaway Fellow.
He is a practicing physician/surgeon at the SF VA Medical Center and a Clinical Instructor of Surgery at UCSF. He mentors pre-medical students and foreign medical graduates. He is the vice president of the Philippine Medical Society of Northern CA (PMSNC.org) and member of the American Medical Association.
He champions multi-club joint venture projects, such as health fairs, multi-club installations, youth exchange program, medical missions and establishment of Lions In Sight Eye Clinics and Global Health Initiative Clinics in the Philippines. He believes “ We Serve Better Together!”
